Principal's Message

Mrs. Arbuckle
Hello, Summertime!
This past school year has been the most unusual one I’ve experienced. I’m sure we can all say that!
We are proud of all that we accomplished prior to COVID-19 with lots of learning and discovery! Our students continued to preserve during learning at home. Now that summer is fully underway, how will your child spend his/her time?  We encourage him/her to stay engaged with fun, brain-friendly activities such as the ones found at the links below.
Enrollment/Proof of Residency Event will take place August 5th (A-K) and August 6th (L-Z) from 1:00-7:00 pm at Pleasant Hill High School. This is an opportunity to complete all back-to- school business at one time and in one place. This year, you will be able to prove residency and pay fees on-line. If you need to do either of these things in person at Enrollment/Residency, you may do so.  In addition to proving residency and paying fees (if you choose to do so in person), you may also order a yearbook (optional), pick up your child’s schedule, and much more. Having completed the online registration prior to attending this event will expedite the process. We ask that only parents attend this event in order to reduce the number of people attending; this is one safety precaution we are putting in place due to COVID-19.
If you miss Enrollment/Proof of Residency and cannot prove residency on-line, you must go to Central Office located at 318 Cedar Street. Once this procedure has been completed, you may visit the Intermediate School beginning August 10 during normal business hours to complete enrollment, pick up your child’s schedule, and take care of any other business.
We will not be hosting our traditional Open House/Meet the Teacher Night this year. Instead, we will be sharing and welcoming you and your child virtually. Please watch for our videos which will be shared prior to school starting.
We will be hosting a 5th Grade Transition Day on August 20 from 9:00-10:30. Fifth graders will be able to visit classrooms and meet their teachers, put school supplies in their lockers, and tour the building. We are excited to provide them this opportunity especially since they missed their tour this past spring. Buses will be running routes.
Have a safe and enjoyable summer; we look forward to seeing you in the fall!
Educationally yours,
Chandra Arbuckle, Principal
